Hire a Bangladesh-based AI automation developer: what working with me looks like
Most "hire a developer" pages are six pricing tiers and a contact form. This one is honest: what I do, what I refuse, who I'm a good fit for, and what hiring me from outside Bangladesh actually feels like.
Who I am, in one paragraph
I'm Ahsan Habib Akik, full-stack developer and automation engineer in Dhaka. I co-build at AI Buddy Catalyst Labs (a Canadian AI services shop) and ship freelance projects under my own name. BBA student at BUP on paper — already shipping production SaaS to paying customers in martial arts, ecommerce, mental health, and creator-economy verticals.
What I take on
1. AI workflows that actually run in production
Self-hosted n8n + Claude / Gemini / Z.AI / OpenAI. Things I've built:
- Cal.com booking → ClickUp task with auto-due date, attendee parsing, video URL extraction.
- Daily morning brief: ClickUp due-today + calendar agenda → branded email.
- ClickUp comment with
@claudemention → Anthropic summary → reply. - Ghost post published → Claude generates social drafts → saved as ClickUp tasks for review.
- Inbound email parsing → CRM record creation with AI categorization.
2. Custom Next.js sites + headless CMS
Next.js 16 App Router, Tailwind, Radix, Framer Motion, Ghost or Sanity for content. I've shipped: MartialApps marketing site, the Ease mental health platform, aibud.ca redesign, and the site you're reading. Performance-first: Cloudinary for media, ISR for content, Cloudflare in front for speed.
3. Video and file pipelines at scale
The piece nobody talks about until it bites: moving lots of files between systems reliably. I built MartialApps's pipeline that ingests instructor videos from Dropbox → SharePoint → Cloudinary, with admin tagging and a searchable Postgres index. Battle-tested on a 365 GB / 654 file run with zero failures.
4. Internal dashboards and ops automation
Founder OS Dashboard, custom report generators, Slack→QuickBooks-style integrations, Sheet→Dashboard live syncs. Supabase + Postgres RLS + React Query + Vercel. Built to replace spreadsheet chaos for small teams.
What I don't do
- WordPress / PHP / non-JS stacks. Out of scope. I'd refer you to a specialist.
- Pure design with no engineering scope. I work better as builder-of-the-thing, not as Figma → handoff.
- Long ambiguous retainers without milestones. I run on 2-6-week sprints with a concrete shipped artifact at the end.
- Mobile-only native apps. Web + responsive PWA, yes. Swift / Kotlin, no.
Who I'm a good fit for
| Profile | Good fit? |
|---|---|
| Solo founder / small team needs MVP fast | ✅ Strong fit |
| Established agency needs senior contract help | ✅ Strong fit |
| Existing SaaS needs AI features bolted on | ✅ Strong fit |
| Enterprise with 6-month procurement cycles | ❌ Wrong shape |
| Need 10 hrs/week ongoing for 12 months | ⚠️ Better with a junior |
The time-zone math
I'm in Dhaka, UTC+6. Compared to common client zones:
- Toronto / NYC (UTC-5): 11h difference. You brief me end of your day, I deliver by your morning. Daily handoff loop.
- San Francisco (UTC-8): 14h. Even more handoff-friendly — your overnight = my full workday.
- London (UTC): 6h. Real overlap from ~3 PM Dhaka onwards.
- Singapore / KL (UTC+8): 2h. Effectively same workday.
I keep ~3 weekly synchronous slots for client calls (mornings my time = your previous evening). Async-by-default for the rest.
What it costs
I'm not posting fixed rate cards because every project is different. Rough ranges to set expectations:
- n8n workflow build (single integration): $300-800 fixed.
- Marketing site (5-8 pages, Next.js + Ghost): $1500-4000 fixed.
- Custom SaaS feature (existing codebase): $60-90/hr or sprint-fixed.
- Full product MVP (4-6 weeks): $5000-12000 fixed.
For agencies: I rate slightly below your senior NA contractor + your account stays profitable. Talk to me.
How to start
- Book a free 30-min call at cal.com/ahsanhabibakik. We figure out if your problem is in my zone.
- I send a one-page scope with deliverables, timeline, and fixed cost within 48 hours of the call.
- Half up front, half on ship. Wire transfer or Wise. For agencies on retainer: net-30 invoicing.
Or just send me a message describing what's stuck.
References
Active work I can point to:
- MartialApps — karate moves library, video pipeline, member-facing site.
- Ease — mental health onboarding + content platform.
- AI Buddy Catalyst Labs — agency redesign + product launches.
- This site, end-to-end (Ghost + n8n + OpenCLAW on a single droplet, custom relay for SMTP block, the works).
I'm friendly, write a lot of docs, ship reliably. Let's talk.
