An afternoon at Brikkho Mela — Dhaka's plant fair, greenery and all
Took a break from screens this week and walked through Brikkho Mela — Dhaka's seasonal plant fair, usually set up at Ramna Park or Bahadur Shah Park. Rows and rows of nurseries, each one competing for the loudest, greenest stall.
Why I go
Most of my week is automation pipelines, Ghost APIs, and client deploys — this blog's Blog section is full of that. Brikkho Mela is the opposite: no screens, no deploys, just walking between stalls of bonsai, money plants, and vendors who'll talk your ear off about soil mix if you let them.
What stood out
- How much the fair has grown — more stalls than I remember from a couple years back.
- Vendors from all over Bangladesh, some with plants I'd never seen sold in the city before.
- The price haggling is half the fun — nobody pays sticker price.
Came home with a couple of new pots for the balcony. Small win for the week — this is the kind of thing I want more of on this blog going forward: not just the build logs, but the actual life happening around them. More of these under Vlog.
